Dorota Owen brings extensive international experience in education, interfaith work, governance and network-building. A GEN Ambassador for over a decade and former Co-Director of Kalikalos Ecovillage in Greece, she has long-standing professional relationships across Europe, North America, Australasia and China.
An Interfaith Minister, Dorota facilitates workshops, teaches and speaks internationally, building bridges between communities and traditions. She has lived in Forres for over twenty years and, alongside raising three children as a single parent, worked as a supply teacher in more than 200 schools across Moray, Highland, Aberdeen and Greater London, gaining deep insight into both mainstream and alternative education systems.
Dorota co-created the Northern Lights conference series at the Universal Hall and has organised events with internationally recognised teachers, including Thomas Hübl. Her governance experience includes four years as an NFA Councillor and ten years as Co-Chair of the Newbold Trust. Earlier roles include Executive Director of a foundation in Manila, educational consultancy work in Oman, authorship of a book on meditation and a regular magazine column.
Originally trained as an architect, Dorota holds an MA (Hons) in Architecture and Art and retains a strong interest in design, form and the stewardship of culturally significant buildings.
